AI at House 337. AI helps us to show the power of creativity for our people, for our clients and for society. When used responsibly and intelligently, it helps us to develop creative thinking that takes people places everybody wants in ways nobody expects. It supports our promise to make better.

Guidelines

We believe in responsible use of all tools and technology. Our values of alchemy, inventiveness and soulfulness guide our use of AI through six guidelines:

We are committed to ensuring our use of AI aligns with our contractual arrangements and agreed-upon terms and conditions. But we believe that the industry should go further than this and are committed to evolving the understanding of compliance, security, and ethics in the context of the changes AI has made and will make to our industry and to individual’s behaviours.

1. People-centred creativity

AI is at its most powerful when it is a partner for our people. Human creativity is the most powerful way of developing original, contagious, and crafted work. We primarily use AI to support our people, to enable them to go further, faster. But we always have human control over any AI systems we use.

2. Experiment to understand

We encourage and enable all our people to experiment with AI tools. Building their skills and understanding of the possibilities and limitations of any tool is the most effective way of using AI where it can make a difference, and knowing when AI is less helpful. And this is an ongoing process, core to our training and development as tools and the possibilities offered by AI will continue to evolve.

3. Originality and respect for creativity

Originality is essential to effective work. We use AI to augment our creativity, not to reduce it to a sea of same. We respect creativity and will never steal or scrape the work of others to create work labelled House 337.

4. Transparency and trust

We will always be open and honest when AI has been used – with our people, with our clients and with the audiences we are engaging on their behalf. We believe that this transparency builds trust and understanding.

5. Remove the bias

Bias perpetuates bias. We understand the limitation of AI and that many AI tools have been trained on data sets that are biased. We educate our people to identify and understand these biases and challenge the industry to further the development of AI sources trained on unbiased datasets.

6. Stay compliant and secure

Our promise to our people

We believe that AI can augment our creativity and enables us to design and build for creative excellence. In addition to our guidelines, we make the following three promises to our people:

1. We will provide opportunities for everybody to stay at the leading edge of AI

We know that AI will impact all parts of our industry. We will build industry-leading training, provide access to tools and create safe spaces for experimentation and learning so that people across all capabilities and departments are able to learn, experiment and understand how AI tools can support and impact the work that we all do.

2. We will be open and honest about how AI is being used across our business

AI tools won’t just support the work we do for clients, it can also support the way we run the business and support all of our team. We will always be honest and transparent about when AI is being used in the way we run and manage our business, just as we will be honest about how we use it for client work.

3. We have a plan of the impact of AI on our business and will regularly share progress with everybody

AI will impact the market in which we operate – changing what we do as well as how we do it. We promise to have a clear business strategy for responding to these changes and to share this and the updates on this plan with our people regularly.
